GREAT BLOOMERS
OLENKA AND THE AUTUMN LOVERS – www.myspace.com/olenkalovers
The local youngsters played their earnest and energetic country-tinged pop-rock to the enthusiastic faithful early Friday morning as the NXNE’s unofficial opening night wound down to a close.
The band’s rambling, piano-based sound is part Springsteen, part Coldplay, with dashes of Neil Young and more experimental indie-rock tossed in for good measure.
Nobody else I saw on Thursday night put more heart into their 40-minute set than Great Bloomers’ bright frontman Lowell Sostomi, and judging by the fervent diehards in the first few rows, The Great Bloomers are only going to keep picking up steam.
We just finished shooting a video for “The Young Ones Slept” and we’re beyond excited to show you all. With the help of our friends Bob Lyte and Chris Pavoni we captured a video that rings true in our lives and captures the essence of a Toronto island excursion. There is nothing more awesome in our city than being able to ride your bike to the island and spend the day on a secluded beach.
if you like:
bike riding, fun, and campfires… you might want to start getting excited for our video!

We always love to head back to my home town of Fort Erie to play a show just for friends and family.
Thanks to everyone who helped make last night so great.

Here’s what we have been up to… (big shout out to Paul and Sarah of Mission, BC) and thanks to everyone who has leant a helping hand.
