We just finished shooting a video for “The Young Ones Slept” and we’re beyond excited to show you all. With the help of our friends Bob Lyte and Chris Pavoni we captured a video that rings true in our lives and captures the essence of a Toronto island excursion. There is nothing more awesome in our city than being able to ride your bike to the island and spend the day on a secluded beach.

We’re feeling pretty relaxed after spending 10 days on the west coast taking in the beautiful weather and the olympic madness.. sorry we spaced on posting video blogs–better late than never! Here’s what we have been up to… (big shout out to Paul and Sarah of Mission, BC) and thanks to everyone who has leant a helping hand.
Here they are:

First off, and most importantly… we have created a revolutionary new drink that will surely become an instant classic in bars and frat houses alike… it’s title? “Pervert in the Mist”.

Recipe Details

Name: A Pervert in the Mist

Ingredients: 3/4 beer

1/4 redbull

Instructions: Combine 3 parts beer to 1 part redbull and enjoy

Moving on…

The Show We ‘Mist’

We were only five minutes outside of Saskatoon on Thursday’s blindingly foggy morning when kyle noticed that our van’s engine was acting up.

We decided that something was seriously wrong with the engine, and that it would be safest to tow the van to the closest mechanic to have our transmission looked at. The five of us piled into the tow-truck, and headed down the two-lane highway 7 back to Saskatoon.

Fearing that our transportation (and home) for the month had broken down, we thought we were living our worst nightmare.

Then, before we knew it we were head-to-head with a minivan that was trying to pass a semi-truck, and as we pulled on to the shoulder the minivan pulled over as well.

We flew into the ditch, and miraculously, everyone in both vehicles were alright, as well as all of our instruments!

The minivan had slammed into the side of our trailer, destroying it, leaving us with no way to transport all of our gear to Calgary for that night’s show.

Suddenly, emerging from the mist were the members of the Wooden Sky (one of the bands we are touring with). They had been leaving town as well and came to make sure we were all alive when they spotted the crash.

In the mayhem, we sent Lowell to Calgary with the WS boys to play a solo set and the rest of us stayed behind in Saskatoon to sort out the mess, with the help of many friends and family members.

The following day Tim, Kyle, Tony and myself made it to Calgary and reunited with Lowell and our other tourmates. It was an amazing night that we were all grateful to have made it out for.

Needless to say, we are all super excited for the days ahead!

Hey everyone,
we are all packed up and ready to hit the road… i am awake far too late as i have now left myself less then 3 hours to get some rest. We’re hitting the road super early and we’re crashing in Chicago tonight (just to party, not to play), so if anyone from Chicago sees this- please, let us know where the good music and cheap beer is!
